Ashly Fine Rugs presents a 1930s Antique Turkmen Overdye 2×3 Sangria & Blue Handmade Area Rug. Turkmen rugs are easily identifiable by their design. The patterns of Turkmen rugs reflect the national unity of Turkmenistan. The five traditional carpet motifs in the red disc of the Emblem of Turkmenistan represent the five major tribes or houses, and stand for the traditional and religious values of the country. This piece, as the majority of Turkmen rugs do, came with a strong red background, along with the rest of the rug’s design including red. We decided to apply our own touch to it and overdyed the entire rug purple, leaving the rug with an amazing dark sangria color. Nonetheless, this piece is great for a bathroom, closet, hung on the wall, or wherever its beauty is desired.
